Tradition, Land and Passion
The property has grown slowly over the years, as parcels of family land have been pieced slowly together, motivated by a sense of the land as a legacy and as a gift that must be safeguarded. Carlo runs the estate which now embraces 30 hectares of land, occupied by vineyards, an olive grove and barley, spelt and wheat crops.

OUR FARM
At the heart of this estate, stretching across a single expanse of land, lies an authentic microcosm, a small constellation of vineyards, olive groves, and cultivated fields. Every corner tells a story, reflecting the harmony between agricultural tradition and respect for nature. This land rests at the foothills of Monte Amiata, a mountain particularly dear to us. This ancient extinct volcano not only enriches our soils with precious minerals but also shields us from harsh weather, creating a unique microclimate for our crops. In front of us flows the Orcia River, which forms the natural boundary between the provinces of Grosseto and Siena. Just 15 km away stands Montalcino, the first town of the Siena province, an iconic presence that enhances the surrounding landscape.
Our vineyards
Poggio Stenti vineyards, mainly Sangiovese and Vermentino grapes, are located on the hills in the heart of the production area of Montecucco DOCG and Maremma Toscana DOC, high over the river Orcia and surrounded by Monte Amiata, an ancient volcano that gave this land its richness and strength.
The land reach is more than 5 hectares, with a high percentage of clay that provides good water storage during winter, so that the vineyards can have a sufficient water supply in summer, often dry, preventing vegetative strain and ensuring excellent phenolic ripening. The strength of our territory, the Montecucco and the Upper Maremma Toscana Pedeamiatina, the clear influences of the mountains on the one hand, the sea and the coast on the other, contribute to give our wines character and personality and to create with them an indissoluble bond, renewed and enriched every year with new content. All this represents the true essence of our terroir, today managed 100% organic.

OUR CELLAR
Our winery, recently renovated, is the beating heart of Poggio Stenti. Designed to merge tradition and modernity, we use stainless steel tanks for controlled fermentation, ensuring freshness and aromatic precision in our wines.
Aging takes place in large barrels made of French and Slavonian oak, adding elegance and structure while enhancing the unique characteristics of Montecucco Sangiovese and other varieties grown on our estate. Every detail of the production process is handled with the utmost care, delivering wines that embody the authenticity and quality of our land.
Visiting us means stepping into a place where the passion for winemaking can be felt in every corner, from fragrant barrels to cutting-edge technology.
Our olive grove
Alongside the vineyards, Poggio Stenti carefully cultivates one hectare of olive groves dedicated to producing premium extra virgin olive oil. The olive trees, deeply rooted in Tuscan tradition, thrive in the unique climate of Montecucco, with sunny days and cool breezes from Mount Amiata.
Poggio Stenti’s extra virgin olive oil stands out for its intense aromas and balanced flavor, perfect for pairing with our wines and enhancing every dish with authenticity and genuineness. Every drop reflects our family’s dedication and passion for the land.

Our animals
Poggio Stenti’s livestock is raised with passion by Carlo, second generation of the Pieri family. Every aspect of animal welfare is carefully managed, with special attention to nutrition: the feed, often produced directly on the estate, ensures a healthy and balanced diet, in harmony with nature and Tuscan traditions.
The management of the livestock reflects the authenticity and quality that define Poggio Stenti, ensuring the utmost respect for the animals and essential hygiene. This approach results in genuine products that embody the passion of a family deeply connected to its land.
